WF1, an all female sister spec series, officially kicks off its 2025 season this week in Australia.
Running a condensed version of the calendar of the official 2025 Formula 1 season sans sprint races, WF1 will give aspiring female drivers the opportunity to experience the rigors of Formula 1 life on a level playing field, as all teams are running equal machinery.
Additionally, to make the field even more competitive and allow more female drivers the opportunity to compete at the highest level, WF1 runs 11 teams as opposed to the 10 in Formula 1. WF1's eleventh team is the Panasonic Team Lotus team. The team's chassis development is primarily conducted by Dallara, and Honda provides the spec power unit.
